How It Works
A visible concern, documented in the chair.
RootReveal is designed to add structure to something cosmetologists already do every day: look closely, explain what they see, and help a client decide what happens next.
In the salon
The workflow, step by step.
Capture: Use the handheld scanner to capture magnified hair and scalp images.
Document: Save photos, notes, and observations in the RootReveal App.
Explain: Review images with clients to support clear, visual conversations.
Track: Compare images over time to monitor visible changes.
Refer: Support referrals and continuity of care with Medical Providers when appropriate.
AI-assisted does not mean AI-diagnosed. RootReveal does not identify medical conditions or determine their cause.
The parts that make it work
Hardware and software, one record.
The handheld scanner
The scanner is designed to capture magnified images of the hair and scalp during a normal salon visit, so what the stylist notices can be seen clearly by the client too.
The digital platform
Captured images and stylist notes are organized in one place. AI-assisted visual analysis groups visible characteristics to support a more structured consultation.
Tracking between appointments
Records are designed to be reviewed side by side across visits, so visible changes are easier to describe than they would be from memory alone.
Referral support
When a concern may call for medical attention, the saved visual history and notes can travel with the client to give a dermatologist clearer context.
Boundaries
What RootReveal does not diagnose.
RootReveal supports documentation, education, and communication. It does not identify a medical condition, determine why a change is happening, or take the place of a licensed medical provider.
- It does not name or confirm a medical condition
- It does not determine the cause of hair loss or scalp concerns
- It does not recommend medical treatment
- It does not replace evaluation by a licensed medical provider
